Vybe

Features

Everything that ships in the current build.

The social layer comes first, then the things you track and share. This describes what is connected and working, not a roadmap, and it says so wherever something is deliberately left out.

01

Feed, posts and stories

Social features with audience control on every story, enforced by the server rather than the client.

  • Home feed with like, comment, save and share
  • Create posts with photo or video from camera or library
  • Post discussion with owner deletion
  • Stories to public, friends, close friends or a custom list
  • Story viewing, reactions and replies
  • Highlights: archive, group, edit and delete
  • Saved posts, and your own post history, both paginated
  • Report content, with explicit feedback on duplicate reports

02

Gym communities

The organising idea of the app. A gym is a place with a feed, members and a conversation.

  • Discover nearby gyms, or search by name
  • Join and leave communities
  • Community overview, details and member list
  • Community feed with posts and threaded discussion
  • Invite people, and share a community
  • Member search with follow, message and profile access
  • Gym search and geocoding are proxied by Vybe’s backend, so no mapping key ships inside the app

03

Profiles and people

Follow state is decided by the server, so two devices can never disagree about it.

  • Public profiles with posts and shared meal plans
  • Follow and unfollow, with per-user pending state
  • Followers and following lists
  • Edit your own profile, including photo
  • Coach and trainer search with filters
  • Register as a trainer during onboarding
  • Find friends from contacts, hashed on device before anything is sent

04

Messaging

Direct and group conversations over an authenticated realtime connection.

  • Chat list with unread state and realtime room updates
  • Direct and group messages
  • Text and media messages
  • Typing indicators, read state and message deletion
  • Jump from a conversation to a profile

05

Challenges and achievements

Progress derived server-side from activity you actually own, so it cannot be spoofed by a client.

  • Achievements by category, with rewards you claim
  • Claims are atomic, so a reward cannot be taken twice
  • Challenges: browse, search, create, join, leave and manage
  • Manual or step-tracked progress, with leaderboards
  • Step-tracked challenges count only your own entries inside the challenge window

06

Going live

Relay-only broadcasting, so hosts and viewers never exchange direct network addresses.

  • Browse live and scheduled broadcasts by category
  • Public, followers-only and invite-only access modes
  • Go live from the camera and microphone
  • Watch with presence, chat, likes and reactions
  • Host moderation, and reconnect handling
  • Broadcasts end automatically at a two-hour cap
  • Audio and video are not recorded or retained

07

Training

Workouts as shareable objects, with the discussion attached to the session itself.

  • Create workouts and multi-week plans
  • Full exercise lists on every workout
  • Workout logs and history
  • Like, comment, share and delete your own
  • Separate discussion threads for workouts and for plans
  • Log an exercise session with today’s totals

08

Nutrition

Prep once, eat all week. Log in seconds, plan by the week, and pass the plan to anyone with a link.

  • Log meals, with a daily summary
  • Food search across recent and custom foods, plus favourites
  • Create custom foods, and calculate by serving
  • Meal templates you can log again in one step
  • Weekly meal plans: create, edit, activate and copy
  • Private share links, hashed at rest and revocable
  • Community Meals: browse, like and comment on meals other people chose to publish
  • Photo-assisted logging: candidates come from trusted food and history data, and you confirm nutrition before it is logged
  • Meal history with today and week summaries

09

Health and progress

Manual entry, described accurately. No wearable or health-platform sync is configured in this release.

  • Hydration: view today, add, undo the last entry, and mixed units normalised for you
  • Daily entry for steps and optional weight, correctable across the last seven days
  • Health goals, calculated and adjustable
  • Health insights by week, month or year, with activity, nutrition and step trends
  • A weekly score based on logging consistency, labelled as such
  • Progress photos: capture, list, compare side by side, view full screen and delete

10

Account and notifications

Sessions survive a flaky network. Only a genuine authorisation failure signs you out.

  • Sign in with an email one-time code, or with a password
  • Password accounts are created only after the email code proves the address
  • Tokens held in the platform keychain, not general storage
  • Notification list with read and delete, plus per-type preferences
  • Notifications route to the right post, message, workout or profile from cold start
  • Change password, and manage account privacy
  • Permanent account deletion from Settings

Deliberately absent

What Vybe does not do.

A feature list is only useful if it also says what is missing. These are not hidden gaps, they are choices, and none of them are presented in the app as a control that quietly does nothing.

No Google or Apple sign-in
Third-party identity is not part of this release, so no inactive social-login buttons are shown. Email code or password are the only paths.
No wearable or health-platform sync
Apple Health, HealthKit, Health Connect and Garmin are not connected. Steps and weight are entered manually, and the app says so wherever it shows them.
No universal links yet
Deep links use Vybe’s own scheme. Universal links stay switched off until the HTTPS association files are hosted under a controlled domain.
